How To Get Rid of Acne, Finally. (Part 2 of 3)
How exciting is it that you’re entering our week 2 of your PhD for getting rid of acne forever? By now you should already know all the major things that you could do to help your skin become clear, beautiful, and radiant! Because nobody has ever really said, “Ahh I wish I had more pimples!” right? You’re here because you’re exhausted of the battle that your skin represents to you inside and out! The great news is that these techniques work on acne and can be implemented by even the less disciplined of us. Your skin is gorgeous underneath. Now, let it come through!
6- Chlorophyll is life
I know what you’re thinking… you’re not a plant! But it turns out that Chlorophyll is not just useful for photosynthesis. It also has a powerful value for humans too, especially when it comes to getting your skin to glow. All it takes is a 2 ounce shot of Chlorophyll daily and it will greatly reduce the toxins in your body, colon, and liver. It will also increase the delivery of oxygen to your cells for overall protection against diseases, including skin related ones like acne.
7- Burdock Root rules!
You may have never heard of Burdock but this pretty herb is one of the most celebrated blood purifiers in Chinese medicine. Burdock helps get rid of acne by eliminating all the icky toxins that cause skin conditions. Burdock has been cleansing the body and lymphatic system of waste products for decades, so it’s time you embrace your inner herbalist. Your skin will thank you!
8- Not All Vitamins Play Nice
As hard as it is to believe, it turns out that not all vitamins are good for you! Actually a few can make your acne worse. What? How? Yes! You think you’re being all good and disciplined with your multivitamin, and out of nowhere, you’re breaking out like crazy. The 3 major offenders are B6, B12, and Biotin. It’s really counterintuitive because all these, especially Biotin, are actually “beauty” vitamins but in their effort to improve skin elasticity they may give you an inflammatory skin reaction. Your best bet is to take your vitamins separate and leave these babies out.
9- Turmeric
You may not have heard of Turmeric but I’m pretty sure you’ve tasted it. This bright orange spice is found in curry and it’s what gives Indian cuisine that distinctive delicious flavor. Outside of its culinary capacity, this spice packs one powerful punch against inflammation, which is one of the leading causes of acne. You can add this to your dishes or take it in capsule form. Just one warning: it stains! So, be careful with your clothing or fingers unless you want to look like you had a fight with a highlighter marker.
10- Oregano Oil
This wonderful oil goes back centuries when the ancient Greeks noticed all its medicinal benefits including being an anti-viral, antifungal, and anti-bacterial. The oil contains two powerful compounds called carvacrol and thymol with the capacity of getting rid of all the microbes inside us. Additionally, oregano oil helps get rid of acne because of its unsurpassed antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Oregano oil can be taken with food or massaged on the skin.
